Holy Week & Easter
Good Friday - 29th March
2pm - Journey to the Cross reflection
For Christians now, of course, there is a glorious side to Good Friday…we live this side of the resurrection. But this service allows us to be reminded that we have a God who went to the cross out of love for us. The service is short, normally 30-40 minutes and has readings, periods of silence and a reflection.
Easter Sunday - 30th March
8am - B.C.P Communion
10am - All Age service
Everyone’s welcome to come and celebrate the risen Jesus at 8am (B.C.P Communion) and 10am (main family service).
The 10am service is also livestreamed on YouTube and after the service there is an EASTER EGG HUNT in the church and refreshments in the church hall.
Maundy Thursday - 28th March
11am - Stations of the Cross
We have a short service which walks around the stations of the cross in church and ends with a simple communion
(and refreshments afterwards)
7:30pm - Maundy service
In the service we sing, we pray, we hear the bible read and preached…but we also re-enact the foot washing. Don’t worry, you don’t have to have this done…it’s done for a few people as a visual reminder of Jesus serving us.
The service ends quietly and the church is then open until midnight for prayer / reflection. Each hour a reading from John’s gospel is read and the bell is rung.
Easter Saturday - 30th March
8pm - All Age Easter Eve service
You know that ‘hushed excitement’ or that sense of anticipation when it’s the night before something big…that’s what the Easter Eve service captures.
We start outside round a fire then we move into the church lighting all the candles so the light spreads around the building. We sing, pray and hear the Easter story…then we toast marshmallows afterwards!
