About St Andrew's

"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."  2 Peter 5:2

Welcome to Our Church

We’re an Christian, Anglican church meeting in a beautiful Grade II* listed building, and we’re serious about helping people grow a deep, lifelong faith. Whether faith feels familiar or new, you’ll find a genuine and welcoming community where people of all ages share life, worship together, and keep learning what it means to follow Jesus today.

We are a Christian Church

We believe that God loves us and that he shows this through his son Jesus.

"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins".  1 John 4:10

...and an Anglican Church

The Anglican Church professes the faith that is uniquely revealed in the Bible and set forth in the Creeds (Early Church statements of faith still used today).

The foundational elements of the Anglican church are the 39 Articles of Religion, the Book of Common Prayer and the Ordinal.

We want to Love God, and Love Hove, like Jesus

Love God

Jesus loved his father God, and pointed other to him.  We want to love God, like Jesus.

Love Hove

Jesus gave all of himself  to others out of love. God has put us in the centre of Hove for a reason. We want to love Hove, like Jesus.

Words from the Bishop of Chichester

[The Diocese of Chichester] have pledged to be a presence in every community, and to promote the common good there. Our ancient buildings tell the story of your ancestors and over a thousand years of our nation's history. Our schools have been providing children with free education for over 200 years. Our priests and others who assist them baptise your children and will care for you in illness, death and grief; they will celebrate your marriage, bless your homes and simply be available in times of distress or festivity.

Very simply, we are the Church of England in Sussex. Come and explore.

And may God show you the path to life in its perfection and glory.
