Funeral
Monday 19th Sept

On Monday 19th September, 2022, the church will be open from 10:30am when The Queen’s coffin will be carried from Westminster Hall to the gun carriage and we will continue streaming until 12pm when the National Anthem and lament will end the service.

 

Anyone is welcome to come together to join the service.

 

We will be printing orders of service so people can take part.

 

Open Church

St. Andrew's Church is open 9am - 9pm on Friday 9th September & Saturday 10th September for anyone to come in for prayer, reflection and to pay tribute.
 

Pay Tribute

There is an official Book of Condolence and Remembrance in the church for tributes, prayers, messages in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Please feel free to use this.

 

There are also candles which can be lit and spaces for floral tributes.

You can also visit the Church of England's website to sign the online memorial book and light a virtual candle.
 

Services

There will be a service of prayer and remembrance at 11am on Friday 9th September which will be open to everyone. This is a chance to join together in grief, and to thank God for our Queen.

 

On Saturday 10th September at 11am the flag in our churchyard will be raised from half to full mast in honour of our new King, King Charles III. There will be short prayers and the chance to sing the National Anthem. All are welcome to join us. The flag will then be lowered to half mast at 1pm on Sunday 11th September.

 

On Sunday 11th September at 8am we will hold a B.C.P Communion service in the church with the chance to remember Queen Elizabeth II, thank God for her and pray.

Our 10am service on Sunday 11th September will still focus on the next part of our theme on the Book of Revelation. We will also take the opportunity to remember Queen Elizabeth II, pray for her family and loved ones and for our new King, King Charles III.

St. Andrew's welcomes everyone who would like to join with any of these services.
